The owners of this modern duplex in a quiet suburb of Paris had lived in many countries including Denmark and Japan. They wanted their home to reflect this global cosmopolitan perspective.
We achieved this by subtly combining Scandinavian and Japanese styles, and using contemporary designs with unique traditional pieces collected on their travels.

We really enjoyed working with you.
You understood exactly what we were looking for.
You made the process easy and fun. And you were always ready to answer any of our questions or concerns.
We only wish we'd signed you up as soon as we moved in.
It would've saved us a lot of time and money.
And we would've enjoyed having a place we love coming home to, and entertaining in, from the start.

We created a relaxing area in the master bedroom by grouping a modern Scandinavian sofa, lamp and antique Japanese tea table. These elements were unified by placing them on a black Japanese woven carpet.
The black metal of the bedside table and lamp harmonise with the rug. Natural linen on the bed makes use of a traditional fabric in a contemporary way. The walls are kept neutral to provide a soft backdrop for the other elements.
The main reception room surrounds a balcony garden and was divided into living and dining areas. The oak table was balanced with light open structured chairs. Again black metal was used to unify the design. Tropical plants in the balcony garden were reflected in the use of large houseplants and contemporary botanical artwork.
A C-shaped sofa placed around a silk carpet forms the main living area. The sofa sits on delicate metal feet which prevent it from feeling heavy. The natural linen upholstery mirrors the fabric used in the master bedroom. Fine white gauze at the windows softens the sunlight and is reminiscent of Japanese shoji screens.
